This month’s employee feature is Edward Hamlett. Edward is an integral part of our team we have enjoyed getting to learn more about him!

Describe your role at SAGA:

My role at Saga Realty and Construction entails supervision of different homes being constructed. This supervision includes: problem solving, motivating sub-contractors, scheduling of sub-contractors and inspectors, making sure all materials are ahead of the sub-contractors, an all-out turnkey of the building process from start to finish, and most importantly coming in at or under budget and on time.

Best part of your job:

The best part of my job is creating dreams into reality for the homeowners or prospective buyers. Also, I enjoy interacting with all personnel with the sub-contractors and coworkers.

Tell us something interesting about yourself your coworkers probably don’t know:

In my spare time, I enjoy racing, cooking and making home-made spirits and being able to share all three with family and friends.

Favorite holiday:

My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. This is because it is warm, it is two days before my anniversary which we get to share with family and friends, and both parts go off with a bang.

Favorite color:

My favorite color is orange as you can tell by my orange hat that I have worn since I first started with Saga.

Favorite food:

I can’t say that I have a favorite, but I haven’t met one that I haven’t liked

Who inspires you:

My immediate family is who inspires me. Everything that I strive to do is to improve their future and well-being.

What are you passionate about:

I am passionate about my family, my work ethic, spending time with family and friends, and making sure that everyone around me is having fun and enjoying themselves.

Favorite family tradition:

A tradition that was started was when my wife and I were married in 1996. We have been spending our anniversary dinner at Tale of the Whale every year since. We have always had family and friends join us and last year on year 22 we had up to 16 people with us.

Where would you love to visit but haven’t been yet:

I would like to visit the Florida Keys or anything west of the Mississippi. With that being said, I’ve been north to Maine, south to Palm Beach, and never crossed the mighty Mississippi River.
