Now that the Christmas season has come to a close, SAGA continues the spirit of giving throughout the year by contributing to the community through countless acts of volunteering at local Outer Banks Nursing Homes, donating to the Outer Banks Food Pantry, Wags and Whiskers and participating in random acts of kindness- “Holiday Cheer Challenge”.

The SAGA “elves” visited the residents of Peak Resources Nursing Home this year to share the holiday spirit and bring smiles to everyone’s face. SAGA employees spend quality time with the community of Peak Resources  as well as donate 100 blankets and  candy cane goods. Each resident received a warm blanket and other holiday treats to brighten their day.

Another way SAGA gives back to the community is by donating to local non-profits on the Outer Banks. Saga donated to the Outer Banks Beach Food Pantry and to the Wags and Whiskers Event. Giving a donation to the Beach Food Pantry offers hope to an estimated 4,370 people in Dare County who are food insecure. Not only does the Beach Pantry offer food security but they also help to every Dare County resident ever affected by a natural event. The very popular Wags and Whiskers is a collaborative fundraising event hosted by several of the Outer Banks organizations dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our county and beyond!

Last but not least one of SAGA’s favorite things to do is celebrate the Spreading Holiday Cheer Challenge. SAGA Employees celebrate the Holiday Cheer Challenge by giving home baked goods and chocolates to the local library, post office, fire department and doctor’s offices.

As the holiday season comes to an end, each and every one of our SAGA members enjoy sharing the holiday spirit by giving to the community through these small acts of kindness..  “For it is in giving that we receive” – Francis of Assisi
