Greg Frucci

Architectural Designer

Greg Frucci graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1984 receiving a Bachelor of Architecture Degree with Honors. Greg worked for over 20 years as a Sole Proprietor and a member of Architecture firms both on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and in California as a Licensed Architect. In 2006, he took a break from Architecture to explore Art in various ways including Professional Acting and even publishing two books based upon a seventeen day and night solo sailing adventure in the Atlantic Ocean back in 2011. Greg’s second book led to being asked by the YPO (Young Presidents Organization) to facilitate a lesson about overcoming fear to an audience of CEOs in Bermuda. In short, Greg’s bio is a bit eclectic.

Greg moved back to the Outer Banks in 2017 after having been gone for almost 20 years. Family here and other locations on the East Coast of the USA is why, but we all know it was really because of the warm water since he is a surfer.

SAGA began a design relationship with Greg shortly thereafter by having him design Model Homes for our Water Oak development among other projects. Now Greg is part of our team full time and designs exclusively for SAGA while co-creating a myriad of projects.

Greg will tell you that for him, Architecture is an art form with his tagline being, “Architecture is occupiable sculpture.” Greg is passionate about what he does and loves the creative process.

In addition to surfing and sailing, Greg is a martial artist, loves painting and sketching, has been known to jump out of perfectly good airplanes and recently can be seen tossing discs on the local disc golf course in KDH. Greg’s Shetland Sheepdog, Lucky keeps him in line…for the most part.
