School is out for the Summer and the kids are already busy planning their days with good friends. When it comes to the best Summer memories, the Outer Banks is sure to create a lasting impression.
There really is something for everyone this Summer!
The first thing on everyone’s mind this Summer is the beach, with long days spent on the shore and in the waves, early bedtimes and sandy sheets. But look just a little bit past the usual routine of the beach and you have an entire sandbar to discover.
H2OBX Waterpark is a great way to spend your day with the kids. You’ll love that you can make it to the park with a short drive and enjoy state of the art waterslides, a lazy river, surf simulator and even an obstacle course. Their kids area is giant and the kids are going to love it! With great food and beverages on the property, plan to stay all day!
The Town of Duck has truly put the children at the forefront of their Summer schedule. Check their schedule for great events like Hula Hoop & Play, Magic Shows, Children’s Interactive Theater and Story Time.
Kitty Hawk Kites is sure to impress you with their lengthy schedule of children’s events! Starting off the Summer with the 36th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival each event is one of a kind. The kids will love the Outer Banks Watermelon Festival, the Pirate Festival and the Stunt Kite Competition. At Kitty Hawk Kites you can also book an off-shore adventure, hang-gliding lessons and horseback riding tours. The options are limitless!
Set sail with Blackbeard on a Pirate ship adventure on the Elizabeth II this Summer. Grab your scalawags and head to Roanoke Island Festival Park to explore the ship while playing games and swabbing the deck! Look out for the cannon!
Head North to Corolla and celebrate Kids Day at the Whalehead Club  in Thursdays all Summer long. This weekly event begins on June 28th at 10:00am. With a children’s tour of the historic property, children’s activities and a bounce house your kiddos will have a great time with our Northern neighbor!
