We all remember grandma’s wallpaper, the washed out colors, tiny country flowers and even the occasional barnyard animals, but the true memories, or nightmares, come from the removal of said wallpaper. That is the moment when most people vow to never commit to wallpaper (and wallpaper removal) ever again! But the good news is that wallpaper is back, and better than ever, bright, bold and beautiful with new and improved backing for easy removal and there are even temporary wallpaper options for those who like to change things up more frequently. Trust me, it is not your grandma’s wallpaper anymore!

During the recent Parade of Homes we heard a lot of great feedback about the wallpaper throughout both of SAGA’s homes. In some spaces I used it as the main feature in the room that the design completely revolved around, and in other spaces I selected it to played more of a supporting roll, quietly enhancing the decor.

There are endless options when it comes to wallpaper these days, you can bring texture and movement to a space, with a fantastic grasscloth or cork. You can add bold color and interest, with a large scale floral or geometric or it can be a calming subtle neutral. Wallpaper is perfect for powder rooms, behind a bed as an accent wall, and even on the ceiling as an unexpected pop. Wallpaper can elevate your space and bring interest and cohesiveness… think of it as art for your walls (or ceiling.)

So before you nix wallpaper from your next project, I urge you to keep an open mind and just consider that wallpaper might be exactly what your space needs!
